Supported Living Services

Caritas Care’s Supported Living and Care at Home Services provide individual support to people with learning disabilities, usually in their own home. Those who require support to live as independently as possible within their home and local community are assisted and enabled to do so.

Setting our own quality standards, the service is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is a recognised social care preferred provider for Lancashire County Council.

We start from the principle that people with learning disabilities have the same fundamental rights as anyone else in society, which includes the right to develop and make informed choices about their lives. We ensure that our staff respect the needs, rights and choices of all individuals and encourage independence.

Our service is available to people of all ages, with support needs ranging from mild to moderate, to complex and profound support and medical needs. Our staff are trained to offer the care that is needed and, where appropriate, we offer the support of registered nurses. Care can be provided from as little as a few hours each week, up to round the clock support day and night.

We offer a fully person centred service with flexible support arrangements designed around each person’s unique needs.  Support includes:

  • Transition support
  • Care planning
  • Skills training
  • Practical assistance and support
  • Escort to community and employment
  • Advice and support in all aspects of running a home
  • Support with medical needs and personal care

Our service will:

  • Pnable people to manage their own home and life as independently as possible
  • Promote good relationships with family, friends and staff
  • Promote people’s skills, develop independence and encourage a positive life experience within the local and wider community
