Birthday is an exercise in music
23rd May 2009
Wesham Interact, based at Wesham Community Centre, in Wesham, near Preston, will continue running its exercise to music classes throughout the summer for the first time, as part of its birthday celebrations.
The project aims to help improve the quality of life for older people in the area by offering leisure activities and educational courses, social events, self-help groups and advice session
Several one-off events to mark the milestone year, including walking trips, are also being planned for summer.
The project is run by Caritas Care, formerly known as Catholic Caring Services, which provides caring and community services across the North West. The charity employs 170 staff at 16 sites in Lancashire, Cumbria and Greater Manchester.
The exercise to music classes are held at the Church Road centre in Wesham on Tuesdays, from 10am until 11am, costing £2.10 per session. For more information, call Wesham Interact on 01772 687112. Exercise classes for the over-55s managed by a Lancashire charity will be extended to mark the project's fifth anniversary.
