For Homeless People
We’re proud of the work we do in helping people who find themselves homeless.
People of all ages and from all walks of life can be affected, often through no fault of their own. One of the ways in which Caritas Care responded is by supporting the services based at Vincent House in Blackpool.
We have had many success stories from the people who have used the service, as it has given them the support they needed at a very difficult time in their life. Here are a few comments from service users who have benefitted from Vincent House:
I’d been in and out of jail for 20 years on and off, but decided I need to get away. If you stick with the same people, you get in the same trouble. Vincent House allowed me to shut the door on the outside world and have my own space, which was safe, provided with a bed, food and support. They supported me to get my own place, and even 2 years on are still supporting me when needed. I wanted to put something back into the organisation, so whilst I was at Vincent House, I started to volunteer at their Charity Shop and I am still doing it 2 years after leaving the service. I enjoy working alongside people who faced the same problems I did, and showing them they can move forward and stay out of trouble. Something I never thought I would do…
