Ongoing support for you and the children in your care

Fostering is a rewarding journey, but it can also bring challenges as children settle into your home and their needs change over time. That’s why we’re committed to providing ongoing support, guidance and practical advice whenever you need it.

Our experienced team works alongside foster carers to help build confidence, strengthen relationships and support the children in your care. Whether you need advice on managing behaviour, understanding the impact of trauma, supporting a child’s emotional wellbeing or navigating changes in a placement, we’re here to help.

We also work closely with local authorities, schools and other specialist services to make sure you and the children in your care have acces

Getting started

Training and preparation

We’ll support you through your initial training and preparation, helping you understand what fostering involves and feel confident about the role you’re stepping into.

Matching and introduction

We’ll work closely with you to ensure we find the right match for the child and your family, making sure you feel supported, informed and confident at every stage of the process.

Building confidence in your role

As you begin fostering, we’ll be alongside you to offer reassurance, guidance and practical advice to help you grow in confidence and develop your skills.

Supporting you every day

Regular contact with your supervising social worker

You’ll have regular contact with your supervising social worker, providing ongoing h=guidance, reassurance and support throughout your fostering journey.

Practical advice and guidance

We’re here to offer practical advice to help you manage day-to-day fostering life, from routines and behaviour to working with schools and other professionals.

Emotional support

Fostering can be both rewarding and challenging. We’ll be there to listen, support and reassure you whenever you need someone to talk to.

Peer support and support groups

You’ll have opportunities to connect with other foster carers through peer support and groups, sharing experiences and learning from one another

Helping children thrive

Education and school support

We can support you in working with schools and education settings to help children feel understood, supported and able to reach their potential.

Understanding trauma and attachment

We’ll help you build understanding of how early experiences can impact behaviour and relationships, supporting you to respond in a way that meets each child’s needs.

Support with birth family relationships

We offer guidance around managing and understanding birth family contact and relationships in a way that supports the child’s wellbeing.

Access to specialist services

Where additional support is needed, we’ll help you access specialist services and expertise to ensire children receive the right help at the right time.
