We can’t express enough how excited and thrilled we are at Caritas Care to have received commended agency status for 2021 by New Family Social’s LGBT+ adopter and foster carer members.

Led by New Family Social, a national charity led by LGBT+ adopters and foster carers who work towards improving the treatment of adopters and foster carers by providing support, guidance and advice.

Some 130 nominations and testimonials for agencies were received from LGBT+ people at different stages of the adoption and fostering process.  Caritas Care were one of two agencies to receive the highest number of nominations and the most compelling evidence from LGBT+ adopters and foster carers.

One of the winning nominations was received from a Caritas Care adopter who wrote,

“They were supportive and clear throughout the whole process. I feel they should be marked as the Gold standard that other agencies, including local authorities should strive to be like!! Couldn’t praise them any higher!”

“In 2009 we dissolved our association with the Church, changed our name from Catholic Caring Services to Caritas Care and became fully independent, which enabled us to be more inclusive and give people from the LGBT+ community the chance to adopt and build a family of their own.  We are so pleased that we have achieved our goal and continue to give out our message that EVERYONE is welcome at Caritas Care.”
