In 1936 Miss Helen Lamb was appointed as a social worker to lead the Diocesan work in Cumberland and Westmorland. From a prominent Catholic family, her passion, dedication and personal financial contributions over the next 30 years, was instrumental in sustaining the Charity’s work in the region.
