The Charity’s records indicate a growing reliance on salaried staff as the demand for qualified personnel increased. This shift reduced the involvement of nuns from Religious Orders, who had formed the backbone of staffing for many years. Adoption placements could only be made by staff with social work qualifications, and while some nuns pursued training, salaried staff became the standard. This transition led to a greater need for financial support and fundraising to cover staff costs.
