After taking over the management of the run-down and underused Plungington Community Centre, Caritas Care relaunched it in 2015 and opened Café Emmanuel in 2016; a welcoming space for everyone. It quickly became a popular local hub. With the Charity’s experience in developing community projects, the Centre has grown into an essential resource, supporting many local groups, such as Dance Syndrome, adult exercise, a weekly food club and the Tribal Project drug rehabilitation service.
